Use languages and reading-view translation

Use the Languages dropdown and understand the difference between translation, reading voices, and voice commands.

Updated October 14, 20262 min read

Choose Languages

The Hub label is Languages. Open the native dropdown and select an available language. Eligible page translation and translated control labels can have different availability. The selected language does not guarantee a matching installed Audio Reader voice.

Page translation

Supported page translation prepares available text and may take time. Check visible progress and review the result. Embedded third-party content, complex documents, image text, and dynamic widgets may need separate support. Return to the original language when needed.

Spoken commands

The current Speak & Ask anything command vocabulary is English. Changing Languages does not automatically enable voice-command recognition in every language. Use a supported English command or type the same request under Type / examples.

Reading voices

Audio Reader voices come from the device and browser. Check device speech settings for the language you need. ADAR shows a short set of suitable local voices rather than an unrestricted novelty-voice list.
