Use the supported client update

Keep the ADA Real client on the current supported version. Where an update is offered in WordPress, use your normal plugin-update process. If support provides a replacement ZIP, replace the intended ADA client rather than installing an unrelated platform package. Read any website-specific update instructions.

Check after an update

  1. Confirm the update completed successfully.
  2. Clear the affected page’s website or hosting cache when appropriate.
  3. Refresh the public page in a fresh browser tab.
  4. Open Accessibility and retest the issue that prompted the update.
  5. Check another important page to make sure the expected behavior remains.

Understand caching

Your website, hosting service, browser, or content-delivery service may retain an earlier response. A refresh in one browser does not necessarily clear those other layers. Use the website’s approved cache controls and avoid repeatedly reinstalling plugins while troubleshooting an old cached page.

Coordinate other website changes

New themes, form plugins, checkout integrations, language tools, or security rules can change visitor behavior. Tell your team about major updates, and test the affected journeys again. On Managed plans, agree on any engineering work that needs to accompany a platform change.

When updating fails

Keep the visible error and current version. Do not repeatedly activate multiple copies of the client or remove unrelated plugins. Ask your website administrator and ADAR to review the failure. If a security service blocks a connection, use a narrow approved exception after review rather than turning off all protection.

Check your installation channel

Website-specific customer packages follow the authorized ADA Real dashboard update path. The separate WordPress.org connector is still under review. Version numbers across these delivery channels are not interchangeable. See the installation-channel guide before changing clients.
