Use Speak & Ask anything
Ask for supported page actions and accessibility adjustments with your voice or a typed request.
Start speaking
- Open Accessibility and select Speak & Ask anything.
- Allow microphone access if your browser asks.
- Wait for the listening message, then speak naturally in English.
- Read the heard/applied status. If a request is unclear, try one action at a time.
- Use Stop listening, say “stop listening,” or close the assistance session when finished.
Try these adjustments
- “I want the font bigger” or “make the text smaller.”
- “Use dark mode,” “highlight links,” or “stop animations.”
- “Scroll down,” “go to the top,” or “read this page.”
- “Reset everything” restores optional adjustments.
- “Close this box” slides the panel aside.
- “Turn off ADA assistance” switches to the original website where supported.
Supported adjustments can be combined with “and,” up to three at a time. Use separate requests if only part is understood.
Open pages and products
Try “go to Contact Us,” “go to homepage,” “go to Specials,” or “find products called blue chair.” Existing link labels and public catalog information help identify real destinations. See Page and product navigation for result choices and cancellation.
Type the same request
Open Type / examples, enter a request, and select Ask / Apply. The typed path uses the same command actions and is useful when a microphone is unavailable, recognition is inaccurate, or you want to check spelling.
Listening and privacy
Listening starts only after you press Speak. Your browser may send microphone audio to its speech-recognition service. ADAR does not record audio or save command transcripts. Keep listening can continue a session; idle time, repeated misses, changing tabs, or closing the session can stop listening. Actual speech availability depends on device, browser, permissions, and service access.
